As some of you may already know we have been selected by the Kildare Local Enterprise Office (LEO) to represent County Kildare at the National Enterprise Awards 2015.
It’s hard to believe after less than a year in business we have been nominated for such a prestigious award but it’s a nomination we are extremely proud of. This time last year we were still building our brewery and we have to pinch ourselves sometimes when we think about how quickly we have grown the business in such a short space of time. From humble beginnings as a small start up selling Kelly’s Mountain Brew locally to expanding the business and exporting our great tasting craft beer to Europe and as far afield as Russia it’s been an amazing journey. We couldn’t have made it this far without our loyal customers and for that we thank each and every one of you that buy our craft beer on a regular basis.
In total there are 31 nominees including ourselves up for the award, one representative from each Local Enterprise Office across all the counties in the country. We are up against some tough competition from the food, drink, technology and manufacturing sector. I have no doubt that like ourselves all the nominees have worked hard to get this far and we wish them all the best of luck in the competition and for the future. While we would love to take home the top prize in all honesty we are just delighted to be nominated.
We would also like to take the time to thank Kildare LEO for all their help and support. If anyone out there is starting a business we would certainly recommend you go and have a chat with them to see what help and support might be available to you.
The awards themselves were set up to recognise the achievements of small businesses around the country. Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton will announce the overall winner on Thursday, June 11 at an awards ceremony at Dublin’s Royal Hospital Kilmainham.
